The Continental Street Market is back in our Fair city
The 2018 Perth Festival of the Arts has a wealth of talent performing in various venues. The newly refurbished Perth Theatre is one of the main venues along with Perth Concert Hall. The festival has events for all ages and tastes ranging from young musician recitals to world class artists.
Last week the Cafe Science talk was by Professor Annie Anderson, from the University of Dundee, who co-directs the Scottish Cancer Prevention Network (SCPN). The SCPN aims to share widely the most recent research in lifestyle changes and cancer prevention.
As 2017 draws to a close, our thoughts are surely turning to new years resolutions … no? Oh well, maybe not. My thoughts are turning to Hogmanay actually – will it be a nice night for the fireworks, will all our visitors be happy and cosy in their lodge. Will my family and friends be happy with whatever I cook for them? Will everyone participate in playing Who’s the Dude? So there are a lot of life-changing possibilities there.

Lots of scary fun coming up in Perth for Halloween 2017. Halloween or All Hallows Eve, All Souls Day, Samhain … all with a similar theme: bonfires to ward off evil spirits, food and drink and sacrifices to appease the spirits. Halloween family night and Spirits of Scone are two events taking place in our fair City of Perth.
