Covid-19 Update, 4 Jun 2020
WELCOMING YOU BACK
Update 15th June 2020
We’re getting closer. We were all geared with a provisional date of 15th July to be confirmed by 9th July.
Then yesterday, the Scottish Government announced that self-contained holiday accommodation could open (potentially) on 3rd July!
However, we are being cautious and will probably stick with the 15th July date (this could change though)
It’s not all about deep cleaning and physical distancing though. We certainly are working hard on the cleaning protocols, check lists, health questionnaires for staff and guests, risk assessments etc, but we also want to reassure our guests and the local community that we are following all the guidelines and regulations to keep everyone safe.
We will also continue to keep the booking procedure as flexible as possible.
See our Covid-19 Statement.
Update 13 June 2020
It’s been very strange not having you here with us. Thank you for your support so far.
We hope that you are all well. The whole of the tourism and self-catering industry has been hit badly by Covid-19 but we are now starting to think about re-opening and the safest way to achieve this.
Scotland will be emerging from lockdown in a 4-phase route-map, as announced by our First Minister Nicola Sturgeon recently. We, in the Self-catering sector, will be in Phase 3. We have been given a provisional date of 15th July to re-open for business. This is dependent on public health advice and progression of the Scottish Government route-map out of lockdown.
RE-OPENING AND CLEANING PROCEDURES
When we re-open after 15th July, we will be following strict cleaning protocols, devised by various trade bodies. The safety of our guests and the local community is of the utmost importance.
In order to maintain social distancing, we are advised against greeting you personally on your arrival, as we usually do, and so key collection measures will be put in place. We already do this for late arrivals, so it won’t be too much different.
Once you are here, you will be in complete control of your environment. Being on the edge of a village, you don’t have to go far to get provisions. We know we can rely on you all to help us in the local community by continuing to practice social distancing.
There are still lots of things enjoy here at River Edge Lodges. We have discovered new local walks to add to our collection of favourites. There is plenty of wildlife in the River Earn and around about. We can use this time of rediscovery of the simple things in life, to share them with family and friends.
BOOKINGS
At the moment, we are keeping existing Summer bookings and taking bookings from 15th July onwards. This could change according to the directives from the Scottish Government. We will not be taking deposits at this time and final payments will not be taken until nearer the arrival time.
For those who already have Summer bookings with us, again your final payment will not be required until just before your arrival, when we can confirm that your holiday can definitely go ahead.
All bookings that have been paid in full will be/have been contacted to arrange for your dates to be moved to a time later in 2020 or in 2021.
