Rob Roy Way
Finally finished the Rob Roy Way
Actually, we’ve done it twice! As we were doing it in stages, we always did a ‘there and back’.
If we’d had the time, we’d have taken a week off and done it in one go (as we did with theWest Highland Way)
We started the walk before the first Lockdown in 2020 and completed it in May 2021.
The Rob Roy Way is a 128km (79.5 miles) walk from Drymen, near Loch Lomond to Pitlochry in Perthshire.
This long distance walk covers paths and tracks, starting with The Trocssachs, through stunning Highland scenery.
The last wee bit of the Rob Roy Way that we completed, was one of my favourite parts of the walk – the National Cycle Route 7 from Callander to Killin –
cycling over the Glen Ogle Viaduct was fantastic (even though my chain came off after the first few miles!!)
I’m doing a walking challange with the Scottish Women’s Walking Group – 1500 miles in 12 months.
Unfortunately, because I cycled the last section (20.29 miles/32.6km), it doens’t count towards my walking distance!!
But it felt great to complete this latest long distance walk.
