EXCITING RENOVATIONS

A Fresh Look for Our Moncreiffe Lodges

Exciting news from River Edge Lodges! Our Moncreiffe Lodges (numbers 14 & 15) have had a wee upgrade, bringing a fresh and modern feel to these favourite holiday retreats. Nestled  in Bridge of Earn, near Perth, our lodges offer lovely views of the River Earn, the historic bridge, and Moncreiffe Hill and Woods, now with brand new patio doors and windows to take it all in!

 Why the Renovations?

Last year, Lodge 14 suffered water damage from burst pipes, making renovations a necessity. Rather than just repairing the damage, we saw this as a great opportunity to upgrade and refresh both Lodge 14 and its mirror image, Lodge 15. The result? A more comfortable, stylish, and energy-efficient stay for our guests.

What’s New?

We wanted to ensure that the upgrades would enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the lodges. Here’s what’s changed:

A brand-new kitchen—fresh, modern, and fully equipped for your self-catering needs.
New flooring  downstairs and wool carpets upstairs—a warm and cosy feel underfoot.
A new fridge and freezer—perfect for longer stays and stocking up on your favourite local produce.
All windows and patio doors replaced—locally made, energy-efficient, and designed to frame the stunning views of the River Earn.

A Team Effort

The renovation process came with its fair share of challenges, especially when it came to fitting all the new windows and doors. John took on the majority of the work, but sometimes extra hands were needed—like when those hefty patio doors had to be lifted! That’s where Mary stepped in to help, and even John’s brother, Alistair got roped in when he popped by for a coffee – it turns out that visiting family members might get given a job and not just tea and biscuits!
