A Lovely Local Walk on a Sunny November Day

We decided to head over the border from Perthshire to deepest, darkest Fife on Sunday, to climb Bishop Hill. On our walk we came across hang gliders launching themselves off the top of the hill, then hiking back up to do it all again.

This local walk is on walkhighlands.co.uk and starts at Portmoak Chuch. It’s the Bishop Hill Circular from Scotlandwell, incorporating Kilmagad Wood and Kinesswood.

It’s a lovely walk, 6.75km (4.25 miles), and quite steep in parts. It’s just a short drive from us here at River Edge Lodges. A perfect family walk to do together, from your self-catering lodge.

A bonus was the stunning sunset – someone had dropped a fiery ball in the water of Loch Leven, and the gliders continued flowing like giant birds as the sun was setting
