Here is a whistle stop tour of some of the August offerings.

 

Perth Show 4th and 5th August

Perth Agricultural Show, South Inch Park

Featuring light and heavy horse events, dog shows, sheep, cattle, goats, donkeys,vintage tractors, food (Perthshire on a Plate).

There are trade stands and local drinks and food stalls and crafts.

Highland Games

No less than 7 Highland Games and Gatherings across Perthshire:

Perth Highland Games 13th August, South Inch Park

Traditional heavyweight events like Tossing the Caber.

Highland dancing and pipe bands.

Gran Fondo Road Race UCI Championships

4th August across all of Perthshire

Thousand of top class cyclists will enjoy stunning routes competing in the Gran Fondo this August.

The UCI Cycling World Championships are in Scotland from 3 – 13 August and Perthshire is delighted to host

the Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo.

There are lots of other cycling-related events on too, such as E-bike trials, evening games, inclusive all-abilities cycling and much more.

City of Perth Salute

6th August, Free Event

Involves: a mini Tattoo in Perth, with a pipe band  and brass band procession ending in the North Inch with an open air arena.

 

Procession starts at 12 noon from Thimblerow car park, going along the Old High Street, then the High Street, then Tay Street to the North Inch.

 

Lots of other things going on too, such as kids landrovers, a climbing wall, inflatables.

The Yard Market Place

6th aug 11-3 at Radisson Blu Hotel

Monthly craft market with live music and food too.

 

The Hauntings

At The Black Watch Castle

The Hauntings is a scrap metal sculpture, 6 metres high, of a World War I soldier.

It’s in the castle courtyard and is free to view. There are 5 minute talks on the hour.

On until 12th November

Plenty of Kids and family workshops going on around this theme throughout the Summer.

20th August, North Inch park

Celebration of Ukraine’s culture and heritage.

Music, dancing and food.

Perthshire pride 26th Aug

North Inch Park, celebrating equality and diversity

Pride Parade starts 11am at Thimble Row Car Park, ending at the North Inch.

Cocktail bars, food village, music, entertainment.
