Christmas Markets
There is so much going on in and around Perth this Festive Season.
The Christmas Markets have such a great buzz about them.
It’s great to chat to the stall holders and sample their food and drink wares.
I particularly love the makers markets and prefer to buy gifts that have been made by human hands rather than a machine.
Here are just some of the Christmas Markets around:
From now until Sunday 2 December: Perth International Christmas Market
In the High Street, Perth and open late Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Lots of crafts, food and drink – these wooden chalets make me feel I’m in Scandinavia!
Saturday 24 November
Christmas Design Market, 10 – 4.30pm, Civic Hall, 2 High Street (at the bottom of the High Street, near the River Tay)
I personally cannot wait for this design market. There are gorgeous original art works here, including jewellery, glass, woodwork, ceramics and more
Free of charge.
It is part of the Perthshire Creates initiative, which works to promote the contemporary creative activities of artists and designers in Perthshire
Trinity church of the Nazarene 10am – 12md York Place, Perth
Coffee morning & craft fair in support of YoungLives International
There is a small charge for entry, as it is a fundraiser.

26 and 27 November
Scone Palace Christmas Fair: The stalls at this Cancer Research UK Christmas Fair are within the State Rooms of the palace. Posh eh?
Lots of quality and original goodies to buy. The coffee shop and gift shop will also be open. Entrance fee £6
Wednesday 28 November
Late Night shopping in Falkland (#Outlander location) 12 noon – 10pm
The lovely craft and vintage shops are open for buisness until 10pm, serving mulled wine and mince pies too!
Thursday 29 November
Christmas Night Market, Taypark House, Perth Road, Dundee 5-9pm
Fabulous crafts, gifts, art work etc. Outdoor teepees and fire pits. Christmas music, hot chocolate and mulled wine …
Oh did I mention the free gin tastings?
This night market takes place in the old stables – very atmospheric it is too.
Friday 30 November
Lindores Abbey Distillery, Newburgh, Fife. Christmas Market 5-9
The distillery is choc full of stallholders selling crafts, food, festive cocktails …
Saturday 1 December
Abernyte Brewery, Abernyte, Perthshire (between Perth and Dundee) 10-5
We went last year and it was great! They describe themselves thus:
A small but perfectly formed market inside the Brewery. Enjoy a pint from our Brewery bar while perusing the isle! Jewellery, printmaking, ceramics, painting, up-cycled funiture, deli produce, wood-fired pizza, Christmas wreaths, delicious cheeses, coffee and cakes. It’ll all be here- and more!
Sunday 2 December
St Andrew’s Day Festival, Perth: A free event.
Showcasing Scotland’s food and drink. There will be live music and a bit of a party in Perth City Centre. A family friendly event.
Makers for Maggies Christmas Market 11am
Why not do your Christmas shopping while supporting a great cause? The market is Maggies Cancer Caring Centre, Dundee. Lots of makers selling design, arts and crafts. There is Christmas food, drink and music.
