Gone Fishing...

Here at River Edge Lodges, we have the fishing rights in the River Earn for brown trout for our side of the bank. We do not charge our visitors to fish here. You can also fish the other side of the bank. Permits are available from the local shop.

Sandyknowes Fishery

Please note, Sandyknowes is closed until further notice due to a beaver problem! Some beavers set up home at Sandyknowes, and must either be removed safely, or if they are going to be permanent residents, all sorts of conditions must be met, such as extensive fencing, as they are a protected species. April 2008. Sandyknowes is still closed for fishing.

Sandyknowes Fishery is a 5 minute walk away from River Edge Lodges. It was originally dug out during the Crimean War! It is looked after by a lovely man called Eoin Christie. You can hire fishing tackle here too. Sandyknowes also has a lovely little café in the fishing lodge, which overlooks the 8 acre loch. Telephone 01738 813033 for details and bookings. The season runs from 1st March – 24 December.
