Perth Festival of the Arts 15 – 27 May 2017
Perth Festival of the Arts 2017 promises 13 days of cultural heaven from 15th – 27th May. There is an eclectic mix of something for all ages and all tastes. There’s rock music, opera dahling, jazz, folk, classical, comedy, childrens concerts … oh! And there’s the ArTay exhibition, which is free of charge. This is a gallery in a marquee, at the Perth Concert Hall Plaza, curated by Frames Gallery, Perth. there are more than 300 works of art including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass, woodwork, metalwork, jewellery and more.
The aim is to make contemporary Scottish art accessible to all.
Big names in the festival this year are: Nicola Benedetti (who is opening the festival), Nigel Kennedy the virtuoso violinist, Marcus Brigstocke (must get my tickets today for this one), The View, Jools Holland, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra … check out the website here.
