Treaty of Perth Celebrations

A celebration of 750 years since the end of military conflict between Scotland, Norway, The Hebrides and the Isle of Man! The Treaty of Perth was signed in 1266 and on 21 August 2016 this event will celebrate  a blend of Scots and Norse culture, with a Viking Strongman competition and the Best Beard competition. There will be stone carving, woodcraft skills, art workshops, medieval music and dance along with medieval weapons displays, archery, medieval music and dance.

The event starts off with a parade along Tay Street with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and local bands, including the Perth and District Pipe Band.  A mini tattoo features a some of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo centrepiece acts.

There will be an exhibition at the Perth Museum and Art Gallery until 4 September 2016.
